Privacy policy

Last updated: 17th July 2026

This policy explains how we collect and use your personal data when you visit or buy from Cushionfit.

Cushionfit is a trading name of Dead Level Ltd (“we”, “us”), registered in England & Wales (company no. 17055489). Registered office: St. James House, 65 Mere Green Road, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, B75 5BY. We are the data controller for the personal data described here and are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, registration number ZC187896. Contact: tom@cushionfit.co.uk.

What we collect

  • Order & contact details — name, email, phone, billing and delivery address.
  • Payment data — card payments are processed by Shopify Payments; we do not see or store full card numbers.
  • Account & saved designs — if you create an account, your details and any cushion designs you save (“Save to my designs”). A saved design records the cushion specification only (size, shape, fabric, fill) — no payment data.
  • Usage data — pages visited and basic device/analytics data via cookies.

How and why we use it

  • To fulfil your order (contract) — process payment, make your cushions and deliver them.
  • To run your account & saved designs (contract / your request).
  • Fraud and order-integrity checks (legitimate interests) — we automatically re-check that each order was priced correctly.
  • Product analytics (legitimate interests) — we analyse aggregate order data (popular sizes, fabrics) to improve our range; this uses order specifications, not identifiable customer profiles.
  • Marketing (consent) — only if you opt in; you can unsubscribe at any time.

Who we share it with

We share data only as needed to run the business, with providers acting on our instructions:

  • Shopify — our store, checkout and payments platform.
  • Cloudflare — hosts the service that powers saved designs and our order-integrity check.
  • Our UK manufacturing partner — receives your cushion specification and delivery address to make and dispatch your order.
  • Delivery partners — to ship your order and provide tracking.
  • Professional advisers, and authorities where required by law.

International transfers

Where a provider processes data outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g. UK adequacy regulations or the IDTA / standard contractual clauses).

Retention

We keep order records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal and accounting obligations (generally 6 years for tax). Saved designs are kept until you delete them or close your account.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing, and withdraw consent. Email us to exercise these. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), ico.org.uk.

Cookies

We use cookies necessary for the store and checkout to work, and (with consent) analytics cookies. Manage these via your browser or our cookie banner.
